My own rod designs



My enthusiasm to make Bamboo Flyrods started as a young man, year 1995, when mr. Erkki Niukkanen was hosting a club meeting for the newly founded Flyfishing Club in Imatra. Erkki was telling stories about his flyfishing and canoeing adventures in Finnish Lapland, and as if by accident showed a photo from a splitcane rod, made by himself.

We asked  to tell you more about splitcane rods. Somehow I came to feel that this "thing" is pretty much flyfisherman's general education. Erkki donated the club tools and devices built in accordance by the book  “A Master's Guide To Building A Bamboo Fly Rod" written by  H.B. Carmichael …  and  that’s how it all stated and the journey continues...

My Rods are based o20 years of experimenting several famous models and designs. I make my rods with traditional ferrule joints, and also available with spliced joints. With modern glues and strengthening bindigs spliced joints nowadays are very strong.

My Standard Delivery" includes: Onesie & scarf joint 2-piece construction, agate stripper, stainless steel snakes,  2 colour windings, Canvas cloth bag and Aluminum tube.  Dark Flamed, honey brown Owen baked or "blond" appearance.


Also I make precise or customized copies of models you desire.
